Medical Data Carrier and Canada Safety Council announce partnership

October 18, 2017

Medical Data Carrier IM Inc. announced today the selection of the Canada Safety Council (CSC) as the exclusive national wholesale distributor of a potential lifesaving Medical Data Carrier, a unique bilingual medical information system that provides critical lifesaving data about the wearer as well as crucial family contact information in the event of an emergency.

“The Canada Safety Council is pleased to be able to offer this useful product across the country,” said Jack Smith, President of the Canada Safety Council. “Anyone using a helmet will immediately see the benefit of having important safety information readily available to first responders in the event of an injury.”

The Medical Data Carrier is a small, unobtrusive plastic sleeve that attaches to the left side of a helmet. Information about the user's identity and medical history including allergies, medications, blood type and pre-existing medical conditions will assist trained first responders to expedite the crucial triage stage of an injured helmet wearer’s care.

A warning on the outside of the carrier, written in bold, warns Good Samaritan responders to leave helmet removal to those trained in the proper technique. Improper removal can result in collateral injury, paralysis or worse. In the event of an injury, it’s always best to let the paramedics do their job without risking further aggravation.

“We are very proud to now have Canada’s voice and resource for safety to assist in expanding the availability of this potentially lifesaving tool,” enthused Steve Reed, President of Medical data Carrier.
